Elementary

Kindergarten - 6th Grade

Our Bible-based curriculum is the alignment with the State and National standards and is enhanced with yearly testing (Terra Nova) and technology. In addition to our core classes our students attend enrichment classes with include computer, art, physical education, music, and karate.

Kindergarten

Benchmarks:  

Students entering kindergarten are required to take the Kindergarten Readiness Test (KRT) and have turned 5 by September 30th. By the time your child graduates from kindergarten, the following benchmarks will be introduced:

  1. Know that God loves them, the attributes of Jesus (joy, peace, kindness, love, etc.)
  2. Familiar with Biblical stories that teach right from wrong, developing morality
  3. Write name in print lettering. Recognize and write upper- and lower-case letters
  4. Recognize all short and long vowels
  5. Know pre-reading skills such as blends, vowel, and consonant sounds
  6. Sequence comprehension of stories (i.e., beginning, middle, end)
  7. Count and recognize all numbers to 100
  8. Know all primary colors and all basic shape structures (squares, triangles, etc.)
  9. Follow classroom and hallway behavioral instruction and directions
  10. Learn how to share their space and/or personal belongings
  11. Learn social interaction with other children (conversations, patience, etc.)

Student Recognition:  

Students that are well behaved will be allowed to bring show in tell every other Friday! At the end of the year, kindergarten achievement is celebrated with a Graduation Program. Students don traditional cap and gown attire to receive their diplomas. Kindergarten graduation is the last week of school.

1st - 4th Grade

Benchmarks:  

The curriculum in elementary school is a combination of A Beka, Bob Jones, Sadlier. 

Student Recognition:  

At the end of each quarter, our elementary school students are honored in a special chapel service. Students receive recognition for being on the Principal’s A Honor Roll, the A/B Honor Roll, Christian Character, Most Improved, and other special awards that our teachers enjoy handing out.
