From Daniel Reyes’ Mom: After we sailed Daniel’s helium dove that carried his prayer to attend Mountain View Christian Schools off of the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge, we knew that we were getting close to winning the scholarship. We all watched quietly as it floated out of sight. But when Daniel saw that shiny red helicopter flying in with Dr. VM, the superintendent of MVCS, sitting in the cockpit, he was overcome with amazement! …
The helicopter landed at his feet, Dr. VM got out, presented Daniel with the dove and prayer he had released, and announced that he had won! “How did she catch my dove prayer, Mom?” he kept asking. “If the dove floated by the helicopter, the blades would have chopped it up! How did she do it?” He thought on and on, and kept inventing other ways that Dr.VM might have gotten his words and dove into that helicopter. There are no word to express the fullness that a mother feels inside when she sees the gratitude in her child…his mind spinning with hope and excitement, his thankfulness to God, the wonder of a prayer answered, and a growing curiosity about what further adventures tomorrow might hold. Congratulations, Daniel!
