MVCS premiered its high school athletics program in 1996.

Our school was accepted as members of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Associations (NIAA) in the fall of 1998, competing in the 1A Southern Division.  The Saints have been Southern 2A members since 2009 (known as NIAA Division III South from 2013-2016). Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA):
MVCS High School athletics is sanctioned under the guidance of NIAA rules in regards to athletic conduct, academic guidelines, facility requirements and coaching. The NIAA sponsors regional and state championship tournaments for Nevada. The Saints varsity teams currently participate at the 2A level, in the Southern Division.

Red Rock Athletic Conference:
MVCS Junior High Prep and Junior High School athletics are members of the Red Rock Athletic Conference.

The Red Rock Athletic Conference was established in 2003 as an Middle School and Elementary School Athletic Conference for private schools in Las Vegas. The Red Rock Athletic Conference’s objective is to utilize athletics to promote leadership, sportsmanship and pride in a safe, competitive environment.

Sponsorship

If you would like to support MVCS Athletics Department individuals and businesses may do so through the Banner Program.  Banners are displayed inside the gym, outside on our 8 acre field, on Saints website and on game programs. This fundraising provides funding for equipment, summer camps and tournaments. There are a variety of advertising opportunities.  Interested individuals and/or companies can email the Athletics Sponsorship Program to advertise at events/or in game programs, or call the school office at 702 452-1300.

In addition to having your support viewed at all MVCS home games, additional special events are hosted on campus:

  • Regional and State Baseball and Softball Championships
  • Annual Vegas Invitational Basketball Tournament
  • Annual Spring Slam Baseball and Softball Tournament
  • Annual Taste of Missions multicultural food and music festival
  • Annual Field Day
  • Summer Events

Kristine Horita finished in 5th place in the NIAA 2A State Tournament.

Saints’ Horita finishes eighth in Division III state golf

Mountain View’s Kristine Horita shot 23-over-par 95 on the second day of the Division III state golf tournament Tuesday at White Pine County Golf Course in Ely to finish in eighth place.

Horita finished with a two-round total of 205.

West Wendover’s Sarah Isaacs was the individual champion, with a two-round total of 188, two shots better than Incline’s Kennedy Cohn.

Incline won the team championship with a score of 802. West Wendover was second at 919, followed by Battle Mountain at 984.
